Why we do fundraising: Fundraising is a necessary part of any PTA in order to accomplish our mission and goals. Phantom Lake PTA is a nonprofit, membership association collaborating to bring together home, school and community on behalf of every child.
Fundraising can also be a great opportunity to have fun, community events! Our annual Dinner Theater and Walkathon events have been great family fun nights along with helping to achieve our fundraising goals!
Where the money goes: Money raised by the PTA supports the students, parents, staff and community of Phantom Lake Elementary. PTA funds are used to supplement supplies, provide school and library support, staff grants and professional development, playground equipment, education experiences and assemblies, free family activities throughout the year such as the Harvest Dance, holiday craft night, ice cream social, and so much more!
Benefits to you: Not only are you supporting your community, but Phantom Lake PTA is also a 501(c)(3) non-profit, which means your donations are tax-deductible!
You can help: We not only need participation, but volunteers are who makes things happen. Did you know you do NOT have to be a PTA member to volunteer? You can even chair an event committee! Volunteers can be parents, high school and middle school students, grandparents, aunts/uncles, seniors, church groups, you get the idea… Anyone can help out! How we do it:
School Event Fundraising:
- Dinner Theater: This year we are holding the Eagles Dinner Theater on Friday, November 18th, 2011 and will be our fall fundraising event (instead of cookie sales). The event will include student talent show, dinner, silent auction, dessert auction, and lots of fun! Dinner ticket purchase is not required to attend event.
- Walkathon: Our spring fundraiser will be our annual walkathon! It will be held Friday, June 1st, 2012. Be sure to save the date!
Community Event Fundraising:
- The Toy Place: We are partnering with Bellevue Art & Frame/The Toy Place for a benefit event on 10/22/2011. 20% of sales on this day will go to Phantom Lake PTA if you mention at purchase you are buying to support Phantom Lake. Go check out their amazing toy selection, art supplies, and deals and be sure to mention Phantom Lake! Get a jump start on birthday and holiday shopping!
- Restaurants (TBD): Opportunity to partner with local restaurants to receive proceeds from sales for an evening. If you have a favorite restaurant you’d like to see this happen at, email us today with your suggestion!
Donations: Donations can be made anytime by mailing a check to the PTA (1050 160th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98008) or via PayPal. Your general donations go to support the many PTA programs we offer throughout the year. You may also make a restricted grant donation to be used towards a specific area.
