Parent Involvement/Volunteer Opportunities
Every PTA depends on parents and other volunteers to make good things happen.
Becoming a member does not obligate you to volunteer. However, we very much appreciate any time you can give. Whether you decide to head a committee, set up for an event, sort box tops, or any other job, we are happy to have you join in!
Increasingly larger class sizes create an even greater need for volunteers.
Parents, caregivers, grandparents and community members are encouraged to share their time and talents during the school day. All you need to get started is to fill out the volunteer application, which you can get from the main office. This is a one-time application which will be kept on file with the Bellevue School District, so you may volunteer in any school. You will be required to show ID and there is a State Patrol background check, in order to protect both our children and our volunteers.
We can use volunteers for all kinds of jobs!
in the classrooms, working with children
room parents, organizing parties and activities
helping with classroom preparation
on playgrounds during recess
helping with lunchtime or after-school workshops for art or science projects (Reflections and Science Fair)
in the clinic (nurse’s office) during lunch or recess to help with ice pack and bandage duty
There's plenty for everyone to do! Please check with your child’s teacher or the front office to get started. The sooner the better!
There is a required background check and application for ALL volunteers in the school district. This form must be filled out and approved before you may help in the classroom, attend field trips, etc. The good news is, you only need to fill it out once. It's good in all Bellevue schools, and does not need to be repeated yearly. Please complete and turn in, along with photo ID, to Debbie Gordon in the main office.

Help 18,000 Kids with One Night of Volunteering!
Bellevue Schools Foundation Phonathon
Many more volunteers are still needed to call families we haven’t yet heard from and invite them to make a gift to support our schools. If you enjoy talking to people and want to help 18,000 Bellevue kids in just three hours, this is the perfect job for you! Please consider volunteering for an evening (Nov. 7th, 8th, or 9th from 6-9 pm). Volunteers are also needed for a mailing party at the Foundation office on Friday, Nov. 18th from 9:30 am to 12 pm.
High school students and bilingual volunteers are welcome. We are happy to verify hours for community service requirements. Groups of volunteers (such as the Enatai dads who call together every year) are encouraged! Training and food are provided. Contact Katrina (Katrina@bsfdn.org or 425.456.4199) for more information.
We congratulate the winners of our 2011 PTA Awards!
